Chelmsford SKC News Article

Following the sad passing of Sensei Charles Naylor (7th Dan) in March of 2007 six Chelmsford Shotokan Tigers under the guidance of Sensei Jane were asked to perform a display at the KUGB National Championships in his honour.  These youngsters performed Kata and Bunkai of Gojushiho Sho.

The six 'Shotokan Tigers' that took part in the display that day were:  Calum Charleston, Eric Austin-Coskry, Sharky Austin-Coskry, Mike Jeffery, Jack Hillsden and Jack Somers.   All of them won British National Champions titles - some in both Kata and Kumite, five of them went onto be selected for KUGB England Squad, four of them won British National Champion titles as Adults and Jack Somers has gone onto win European and World Titles with KUGB  England.

Sensei Charles Naylor's legacy lives on in many students and he would be very proud to see what these six and many others have achieved in both Karate and also in their lives.   Could you be the next Shotokan Tiger?  If you, a friend or a family member, are interested in joining please do not contact us on 07973 672663.
