Chelmsford SKC News Article

At the start of November, Chelmsford Karate Club member and Black belt, Alexander Lockett (aged 10) visited Oaklands Infant School to help them with their work.

The Reception children are learning about the letter 'K' and Alexander gave them a Karate lesson, practicing Kicks and learning about Katas (Set Forms) to help bring the 'K' phonics alive.

Jane Little, a Teacher at Oaklands Infant School, took the time to write to Sensei Jane to praise Alexander and say "how impressed we all were".  She went onto explain how confident Alexander was when he talked to the children and showed them how to bow, perform karate techniques, Kiai and bow again.  She was very pleased that "Alexander talked to them about his Karate practices - how many times a week he goes to his club and about how you have to keep practising to get better (in line with our school policy for persevering)"

At  the end of  the class Alexander, showed them some of his medals and trophies including his KUGB British National Championship Trophy. Jane Little said "it was a very successful event - with much thanks to Alexander".

Sensei Jane Naylor-Jones said "this is fantastic news and a further well done from everyone at Chelmsford Karate Club for an outstanding performance Alexander!"
