Sensei Rhodes needs no introduction for those people who have trained with him on the KUGB's Black & Brown Belt Courses and the Torbay and Lancaster "Train With The Champions" courses. His creative applications of Kata Bunkai have both excited and bewildered us at the same time and last night course in Chelmsford was no exception.

Sensei Rhodes took a class of High Grades through Kata – Kanku Dai.  He taught the Kata in it’s pure form and then split it into sections to perform a dynamic display of bunkai (application of Kata) against three attackers.   The techniques applied were both creative and effective, forcing the defender to constantly think of their body position and balance to both block and counter their multiple opponents.

The feedback from all those who attended was that the course was ‘excellent’.
