Chelmsford SKC News Article

This last weekend saw the National squads of England, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales compete in Chesterfield.

Chelmsford had three people representing England: Eric Austin-Coskry, Sharky Austin-Coskry and Teah Pope.   The day for them started with an hours coaching from England coaches Sensei Andy Sherry (9th Dan) and Sensei Frank Brennan (7th Dan) to hone their skills.

Then the competition began. Eric and Sharky were competing in the Junior Kumite events and fought strongly throughout the day.   Teah was in the Female Kata and although only 15 years old competed with the adults.   She got through to the last eight and was beaten by the eventual winner Cristina Finta, who you will all remember trained with us for the past 12 months during her University work placement.

Well done to Eric, Sharky, Teah and Cristina.   In keeping with the Chelmsford connection,  congratulations also go to Jack Somers who came second in the Male Kata.
