Jack Somers visited the Dojo back from the European Shotokan Association Championships (ESKA) in Portugal where he won 2 Golds and 1 Silver.  Jack, along with KUGB England Team mates Hisham Saif and Stuart Amos repeated their recent success at this year's World Championships and won the Junior Male Team Kata at the Europeans. The same team entered the Senior Male Team Kata and narrowly missed out on first place to win silver.  In the Senior Individual Male Kata, Jack was outstanding throughout the day to reach the Final where he performed an excellent Gojoshiho Sho to become European Champion.  Jack who has been training at Chelmsford SKC since he was 9 years old, now trains at Ipswich Higashi but still finds time to travel from his hometown, Ipswich, to get some extra training in and join up with his friends here at Chelmsford.

Mia Hillsden was last week confirmed as one of the Top 3 candidates for the 'Young Sports Star of the Year' in the Essex Sports Awards 2013. In January she will attend the formal Award Evening where she will learn her final position.  We all hope it will be as 'number one'.
