Dads in the Dojo! That's right, its Father's Day
It's Father's Day today and it has become a bit of a tradition to open up our doors to any Dads, Grandads, Uncles, Brothers etc to join in with our class for an hour. Today was no exception and it was great to see the smiles on the faces of our Kids as their guests stood next to them. In fact, we think they enjoyed being the boss for a change.
Sensei Richard warmed up the class and then we split the class. Sensei Richard took our guests and lower grades while our higher grades worked on their grading Katas with Sensei Jane.
Our guests enjoyed learning how to punch and block and did so well that they began to learn the start of Kihon Kata.
The hour went very quickly so we finished off with some footwork drills on the ladders and some races.
Even Sensei Richard got in on the act
After that, we took a moment to celebrate Father's Day by taking photos of as many of the Dads as we could grab.
Jamie and Amiya wanted to get their photos taken as well so Sensei Richard stepped in :-D
Well done everyone, we had a great morning and hope you did too. HAPPY FATHER'S DAY.
