The Newspaper's Back Page then directs you to Page 68 where a more detailed article explains that Wayne, from Chelmsford Shotokan Karate Club, has successfully qualified as National Judge with the Karate Union of Great Britain (KUGB).
He did this back in October, when he traveled to Lichfield to take his examination under the supervision of Sensei Andy Sherry (9th Dan) and Sensei Bob Poynton (8th Dan).
At the end of the examination it was announced that Wayne had passed and was awarded his Judges Badge by Sensei Sherry.
This is a fantastic achievement for Wayne, as the KUGB set extremely high standards for their Competition Officials and Wayne is only one of three Judges who have passed this examination in the past 12 months across Great Britain.

So now you will see Wayne in his Judges Uniform at KUGB Competitions both Regionally and Nationally. Well done Wayne!
