We were very pleased to host Sensei Bob Rhodes (8th Dan) at Chelmsford today. The evening started with a Kyu Grading Examination followed by a Masterclass on the Bunkai for the Kata Jitte for the high grades.
There were a number of people grading both adults and children for orange belt through to Brown belt. Congratulations to all those students who attended and passed. Pictures of the successful students with their certificates can be found on the Club's Facebook Page:

Following the grading Sensei Rhodes took the high grade class through Kata –Jitte showing how it can be interpreted and performed at an advanced level. In doing so, he showed how the Kata can be adapted from it’s pure form and then split it into sections to perform a dynamic display of Bunkai (application of Kata) against three attackers. The techniques applied were both creative and effective, forcing the defender to constantly think of their body position and balance to both block and counter their multiple opponents.

It was, as usual, an excellent course and everyone who attended learnt a lot and enjoyed the application on multiple opponents.
We would like to thank Sensei Bob Rhodes for teaching at Chelmsford SKC's and look forward to hosting him again soon in Chelmsford.
