Congratulations to Melvyn Tang and Richard Clarke who passed their Black belts today.
The day started early as they made the trip to Egham's Sports Centre and prepared for their grading with 1.5 hours training under Sensei Andy Sherry (8th Dan), Chief Instructor of the Karate Union of Great Britain and Sensei Frank Brennan (7th Dan).
They then had a couple of hours to wait as the Black belts were put through their paces. This included Jane Naylor-Jones, Richard Naylor-Jones, Richard Kheder and Pamela Pickwick.
Those taking the examination under Sensei Sherry and Sensei Brennan were then called into the room and the doors closed whilst their Instructors and Parents/friends waited outside.
Some time later the doors were opened and two new Chelmsford Black belts appeared. Well done to the both of you!
