Chelmsford SKC News Article

Hot news of the press!   Both Mia Hillsden and Jack Somers have both been selected to represent England in Serbia at the European Championships in November.

Whilst many were enjoying a hot summer both Mia and Jack had one eye on selection so during the relatively cooler summer evenings were in the Dojo training hard in a bid to get selected.   Both have had Grand Slam success this year and both also won prestigious British Titles at the KUGB National Championships in Leicester.  At this event Mia also was awarded the 'Most Outstanding Competitor'.

Last year Mia was crowned World Youth Champion whilst Jack took Bronze in the Senior Men's category in Italy.   So they  will be both working hard in the Dojo in the forthcoming weeks as they prepare to represent their country.

Sensei Jane who represented both England and Great Britain for many years said "I know how much work and preparation both Mia and Jack have done to earn selection and the right to represent their country.   Both Mia and Jack have been training at the Club since they were very young and are part of a legacy here in Chelmsford that has seen many students over its 50 year history develop and go onto represent England winning European and World titles.  Both Mia and Jack have already achieved Gold at World level and I am excited to see them compete in Serbia".
