Last weekend Chelmsford Karate Club were very proud to host Sensei John Bruce (5th Dan) and Sensei Holly Sterling (4th Dan) in Chelmsford.
It is always a pleasure to welcome both Sensei John and Sensei Holly to Chelmsford. They run the successful Sendai Kushiro Club in Sunderland and are both successful members of the KUGB England team, winning European and World titles in both Kata and Kumite. Furthermore, Holly is a former member of Chelmsford up until she moved to study for a degree at University of Sunderland.
The connections go even further as Sensei John and Sensei Holly are KUGB Northern Region Officers and meet up regularly with Sensei Richard, who is a KUGB Southern Region Officer, and Sensei Jane, who is the KUGB Publicity and Promotions Officer, at the KUGB Executive Committee.

The first class was for All Grades and the class was split into two groups so that they could focus on developing the three fundamentals of Karate: Kihon, Kata and Kumite. The two Instructors focused on the technical excellence required to perform Karate at the highest standard. This continued into the second class that was for Black and Brown Belts only. Here the focus was on how to develop your Karate techniques, form, speed, power and mind at an advanced level.

At the end of the two sessions Sensei John and Sensei Holly held a question and answer session for the participating students. In response to the many questions Sensei John and Sensei Holly gave an insight into their experiences and training regimes particularly when preparing for International competitions.
