We are please to announce that we have published a series of Shotokan Tiger Kata videos to assist in the performance development of our young Shotokan Tigers. The series takes you through all the Katas you need to know to be able to work towards your Black Belt Dan Grading.
The Shotokan Tiger Kata Series includes the following|:
- Kihon Kata
- Heian Shodan
- Heian Nidan
- Heian Sandan
- Heian Yondan
- Heian Godan
- Tekki Shodan
- Bassai Dai
The Katas are performed at half speed from both a front and side view. They are there to assist our students learning and development and to complement their regular training in the Dojo. The study and performance of a Kata goes much further than these Katas and this knowledge can only be gained by training under the guidance of our Club Instructors.
Below is the first Kata for White Belts to study and perform at their first Grading - Kihon Kata.
The Kata's are performed by Alexander Lockett who joined the Shotokan Tigers when he was aged 5. He is now a 2nd Degree Black Belt, multiple Karate Union Of Great Britain British National Champion, Southern Region Grand Champion 2018 and on the KUGB England squad.
Directed and produced by Sensei Richard Naylor-Jones (5th Dan), he is a former KUGB British Champion and coach to British, European and World Champions.
We hope that you find these Katas useful and informative and invite you to subscribe to our You Tube Channel. Here is the link:
