Chelmsford SKC News Article

This week, members of Chelmsford SKC attended the first Shotokan Tigers Course of the Summer holidays at Dovedale Sports Centre.  The students ranged from white belt beginners to Black Belts, and were taught by both Sensei Richard Naylor-Jones (5th Dan) and Sensei Jane Naylor-Jones (5th Dan).

The club runs the courses during the holidays and every half-term.  Once the ice-breaker was completed, this course allowed the higher grades the opportunity of working on a very high grade and difficult kata, whilst the beginners and lower grades had fun designing their own kata.

We also took the opportunity to work on balance with some help from the Dovedale sport equipment cupboard.

At the end of the course there was time to let of some steam with relay races and footwork drills using the clubs ladders.
