On Saturday 14 November 2015, Eric Austin-Coskry, Jamie Lottering and Megan Naylor-Jones represented Chelmsford Shotokan Karate Club at the 32nd KUGB National Students Championship. The three of them were supported by Coach Jane Naylor-Jones, Judge Wayne Lottering and Referee Richard Naylor-Jones who all made the journey to Chesterfield.

All three performed well in their Kumite events and narrowly missed out in getting to the Kumite finals. However, in contrast, all three reached their Individual Kata Finals. The three also got together as a Team to make the Mixed Team Kata finals.
In the Male Individual Black Belt Kata - Jamie Lottering took fourth place with a strong performance of Kata Gojushiho Sho and Eric came second with an excellent Kata- Empi. Whilst, in the Female Individual Black Belt Kata - Megan Naylor-Jones won silver with a strongly executed performance of Kata Bassai Dai.

In the Mixed Team Kata this 'new team' performing for the first time together at a competition produced an outstanding display of Kata - Bassai Dai to take silver, narrowly missing out on Gold by only one point.
Overall it was a great day for Chelmsford, with all three competitors coming back with two medals each. Well done!
