On Sunday 20 October, Sensei Andy Sherry (9th Dan), Chief Instructor of the Karate Union of Great Britain (KUGB), was at the Chelmsford Dojo, Dovedale Sports Centre.

The day started with Sensei Sherry teaching the Black and Brown Belts.

They were put through their paces covering Kihon, Advanced Kumite techniques and Katas: Bassai Dai and Gankaku.

Then this was immediately followed by a training session for All Grades.  With a large number of Brown and Black Belts (not grading today) taking the opportunity to have an additional session with Sensei Sherry.

With the Grading to follow immediately after,  Sensei Sherry took the class through the Kyu Grade Syllabus to ensure everyone was fully prepared for their examination.

KUGB Clubs from all over the region were in attendance and we thank them for their continued support.

Following these training sessions the Kyu Grading examination began.  The Grading was well attended with 76 Students from Ipswich Higashi SKC, Shin Gi Tai SKC, Sudbury SKC and, of course, Chelmsford SKC.

The grading was a great success so well done to everyone who participated.  

Please note there will be an Award Ceremony on Sunday 27th October at the Chelmsford Dojo where Sensei Dot Naylor, Chief Instructor of Chelmsford SKC  will present our successful students with their certificate.  More details can be found on our Events page.
