Start voting for Mia Hillsden who is in the Essex Chronicle today, on page 62, amongst 11 other candidates who are all hoping to become the Essex Sports Awards 2013 'Young Sports Star of the Year'.

Mia, who has been training with Chelmsford Shotokan Karate Club since she was five, has been outstanding in 2013 winning seven titles at KUGB Regional and National Level .  She has won both Kata and Kumite Events and also two team titles in the largest single style Karate organisation in Great Britain.  In doing so, at the age of 10 years old she has successfully competed against other athletes upto age 16 and competitors, some of whom have competed internationally.  Mia's success is the direct result of hardwork, commitment and determination that for someone so young is extremely rare.

Below is her picture, with the Voting code and a brief explanation of why the Chronicle Newspaper nominated her as a candidate.

We now need to show our support by voting for her to make the TOP FIVE and go forward to the final judging.

There are two ways to do this:

1) By voting coupon:   Buy the newspaper (90p) this week, or over the next two weeks, and complete the coupon.  Note you must use an original coupon for your vote to count.
