JANUARY
The following people were selected on to the KUGB England Squads for 2006.

FEBRUARY
At the Grand Slam, Holly Sterling took gold in the Senior Female Kata and Lee McLeod took bronze in the Junior Kumite (18-20)
MARCH
Some of our members took part in the Karate England National Championships as part of the KUGB England Team. Congratulations go to :

On 25th March, at the KUGB's Black & Brown Belt Course in Bath, Sharky Austin-Coskry, Eric Austin-Coskry and Callum Charleston successfully passed their Shodan grading.
MAY
At the 40th KUGB National Championships, Chelmsford won the following medals :
1st Senior Male Kata - Stuart Gordon (yes we know he was competing for Salford Academy, but he'd trained with us for almost 15 years before that! and we are still very proud of him)

Chelmsford were responsible for two demonstrations at this Championships, the first was Holly Sterling with the bunkai of kata Unsu.

4th Adult Team Kata - Kelly Hodkinson, Lyndsey Hodkinson, Samantha Plumb
2nd Boy's Kumite Over 5;5: - Elliott Reynolds

At the 39th KUGB National Championships we won the following medals :
​Male Kata - Stuart Gordon. Although Stuart was competing for the University of Manchester, he had been training continuously at Chelmsford from the age of 5, so we don't feel bad for taking some of the credit for this.

Female Kata - Holly Sterling took 3rd.

Holly Sterling represented KUGB England at the Grand Slam taking silver in the Senior Female Kata and 1st in the Junior Female Individual Kumite.

The Shotokan Cup is the KUGB's National Individual Championships and we are always well represented. Our results were as follows:-

Chelmsford was represented at the ESKA European Championships in Wroclaw, Poland, but Sensei Charlie who, as President of ESKA, was officiating.
Two of our members, Holly Sterling and Lee McLeod who both came home with medals.Holly won the Junior Ladies Team Kumite with team mates Caroline McGrath and Kelly Perry as well as bringing home a bronze in the Individual Kumite event.Lee McLeod took bronze in the Junior Men's Team Kumite event with teammates Christopher Cray, Anthony Duffy and Damian O'Donnell.
DECEMBER
At the final Black & Brown Belt Course of the year, Chelmsford members Kelly Hodkinson, Christopher Coe and Elliott Reynolds all passed their 2nd dan gradings,
